the Passing of Autumn
My mind was filled with strange thoughts as the world outside was filled with the cold.
A choice-based interactive fiction adaptation of a story I wrote for a Halloween zine twenty years ago. Two young women discover that understanding life can be difficult as they navigate the fringes of an empty world.
The mechanics explore my personal experience of disempowerment and depression, so Content Warning for descriptions of emotional and physical isolation, frustration, and hopelessness, as well as (depending on the play-through) miscommunication in intimate relationships. Despite that, this game is pretty tame and there are no bad endings.
